ROKU Channel List

Private – Hidden – Public – Channel Store – Adult

At StreamFREE.tv, we list ALL the Roku channels in an easy searchable format whether it be private, public, adult and beta channels.  Find the FREE channels in the categories as you would see displayed on your Roku.  We include additional categories for LIVE streaming and Local File streaming channels for those looking for a specific need.

Our list of Roku channels is broken into two main categories – Private and Channel Store.  Channel Store channels are listed as you would find them on your Roku.  We provide the details of cost, activation, content, and contacts without having to waste time adding/removing the channel from your lineup because you need to activate the channel first on your PC.

Our private list of roku channels cannot be found in the Roku Channel Store or on the Roku.com website.  These listed channels may be in early development or do not meet Roku’s acceptance criteria for one reason or another.

Need to explore the source of a channel further?  Maybe contact the channel developer?  We include those contact details and more for each channel in our list of Roku Channels.

What is the Roku Channel Store?

The Roku Channel Store—located on the Roku home screen, just to the right of Settings—makes it easy for you to browse, add and purchase channels from Roku content partners. You can add or remove channels at any time. Each channel offers something unique in the way of movies, TV shows, sports programming, Internet videos, Internet radio, podcasts, photos and even social networking sites. Channels get added all the time, so be sure to check in often to see what’s new.

What is a Roku Private Channel?

…  private channels look and feel similar to channels found in the Channel Store, they are in fact, very different.

Roku does not review or approve private channels. So why would a developer choose to release a channel as a private channel instead of submitting it to the Roku Channel Store? A few reasons:

    • The channel isn’t ready for the Roku Channel Store. Developers use private channels to test their apps during the development process.
    • The channel contains content not appropriate for the Roku Channel Store. An adult-oriented channel is a good example of a channel that Roku would not publish publicly.
    • The channel contains content that is confidential or intended for members or employees in a specific group or company.

Are there any security risks installing a Private Channel?

As these private channels are not “vetted” by Roku, there is a remote possibility of malicious code.  Even though a private channel is not evaluated by Roku, Roku does have control over the code.  Any reported issues, the Private channel code would be immediately disabled by Roku.

In the unlikely event of a security issue, StreamFREE.TV will immediately remove any questionable listing and report the listing to Roku.  So far, no issues have been reported.
